How to delete your 8isok account

Your 8isok account is yours and you can delete it whenever you want, without asking permission and without waiting for anyone to reply. This page explains how to do it and exactly what disappears. It applies the same to the 8isok app on iPhone and Android and to the www.8isok.com site: it is the same account.
From the app, on your phone
Open 8isok, sign in and go to the «Profile» tab. Tap «Settings» and then «Delete my account».
The app asks you to confirm before doing anything. Once you confirm, the deletion is immediate: there is no waiting period, there is nobody to write to, and it cannot be undone.
From the website
Go to www.8isok.com, sign in, open «Settings» and look for «Delete my account». To confirm we ask you to type your username, so that nobody deletes it by mistake or from a session you left open on someone else's device.
If you would rather ask us over e-mail
Write to datos@8isok.com from the address you signed up with —that is how we check the account is yours without asking you for any document— and tell us you want it deleted.
You do not have to explain why. We answer at that same address once it is done, within the deadlines the law sets.
What is deleted
- Your account and your profile, with your username and your e-mail address.
- Everything you posted: your posts, along with the comments other people left on them, and your comments on other people's posts.
- Your votes, your reports and your list of blocked people.
- Your notices and, if you had turned on notifications on your phone, that device's registration: they stop arriving straight away.
What is kept
If content of yours was ever moderated, the internal moderation log keeps an excerpt of that content as evidence, without your username. It is the only thing that survives the deletion, and it is what the privacy notice already says.
The forum's aggregate figures —how many posts there are, which communities get used most— are not recalculated backwards, but there is nothing of yours left in them: they are numbers about the whole, with no username, no e-mail address and none of the text you wrote.
